Internship Program

OVERVIEW
Wade Wilson Art’s internship program provides college juniors and seniors, recent graduates and graduate students with
practical work experience and training in the art market profession. Working under the supervision of one of the gallery’s
professional staff, interns contribute to timely projects, gain insight into the art gallery business functions and
learn about contemporary artists and exhibitions. Wade Wilson Art offers fall, spring and summer internships. All internships
require a minimum commitment of two days per week (Tuesday through Saturday) and are unpaid.


Wade Wilson Art’s staff organizes regular training programs and meetings with key professionals involved in art gallery
business. Interns will gain valuable hands on experience and build their portfolio of skills and knowledge of the art market
industry.


AVAILABLE INTERNSHIPS

Curatorial & Registration Internship
Wade Wilson Art offers internships (fall, spring and summer) for students studying studio arts, art history, museum studies
or others interested in pursuing a museum or gallery career. Wade Wilson Art internships provide an introduction to
the world of art galleries and professional art handling practices and provide training for those looking to enter the gallery
or museum profession. The internship is unpaid (but it is possible to earn credit) and involves 10 - 12 hours of work
per week.


Curatorial & Registration Interns will:
• Provide care for consigned and gallery-owned paintings, works on paper and sculpture.
• Coordinate the packing, shipping, storage, insurance and documentation of works of art under consignment,
both onsite and at offsite storage locations.
• Assist with exhibition-related administration including budgets, planning and coordination.
• Assist with exhibition planning and installation.

Communications Internship
Wade Wilson Art offers internships (fall, spring and summer) for students studying public relations and/or marketing or
others interested in pursuing a communications career. Wade Wilson Art internships provide an introduction to best
practices in media relations, advertising, digital media and promotional events. Communications Interns build their
portfolio with concrete materials they assist in producing and gain valuable "rst-hand experience in both public relations
and marketing tactics and campaigns.


Communications Interns will:
• Assist with editing and production of all gallery books and exhibition catalogs, brochures and other written marketing
materials.
• Develop programs and collateral materials that enhance community members’ understanding and appreciation
of exhibitions and gallery artists’ works.
• Assist with production of gallery graphics including advertising and digital media.
• Assist in de"ning, developing and placement of gallery advertising and promotions.
• Research and draft media relations materials related to exhibitions and special projects.

INTERNSHIP OPTIONS

Summer Internships
Length 16 weeks
Required Commitment Two days per week. Exact schedule determined by interns’ availability during gallery
business hours - Tuesday - Friday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Eligibility Students must be undergraduates with at least incoming junior standing (or have recently
graduated) or be currently registered graduate students (or have recently completed coursework). International students or recent graduates may apply. Please note that junior standing is roughly equivalent to having completed at least one-half of an
undergraduate degree.
Stipend No stipends are available

Fall Internships
Length 12 weeks

HOW TO APPLY
There is one standard application form for all internship programs. Please complete the application and mail or email it
to Wade Wilson Art along with the following necessary supporting documentation:
• Completed application form
• Completed course list or transcript of records
• Resume/curriculum vitae
• Two letters of recommendation, academic or professional
• Two to four writing and/or design samples (Communications Internship applicants only.)


Wade Wilson Art will only review complete applications. These materials (application form, resume/cv, two letters of
recommendation, transcript and, if applicable, samples) should be compiled and mailed in one package by the application
deadline. No exceptions will be made and incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
